Vishakha Darbha is an audio-visual journalist with nearly a decade of experience in reporting, editing and producing documentaries, video explainers, and podcasts. Before joining the New York Times Opinion audio team in 2020, she worked as a video producer for The Atlantic magazine. She was also briefly a video editor for Newsy’s TV show, In The Loop, the creative director for a pop-up literary anthology, and the producer and host of an independent podcast, You’ve Got it Made. Before that, she covered breaking news stories and made video explainers at Mother Jones, and covered environmental justice stories at Grist.org. She started her career on Vox.com’s video team, during the 2016 Presidential elections. She has been an editor for AAJA voices, actively worked as a mentor for the Media Mentors program for more than four years now, and has given talks and taught audio courses at the School of New York Times.

She is from New Delhi, India and currently lives in Brooklyn, NY.
