Megan Griffith-Greene is on the faculty at the Poynter Institute, where she focuses on helping funders understand how to ethically support local news. She is a passionate advocate for audience- and community-focused practices and making journalism more useful and accessible for everyone. Before coming to Poynter, she was the service journalism editor at The Washington Post; before that, she was the senior service journalism editor and innovation editor at the Philadelphia Inquirer. Originally from Toronto, she also spent eight years at the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation in a number of roles spanning investigative journalism, social formats, podcasts and newsletters. She lives in Washington, D.C.
