Lisa is a national award-winning investigative journalist with more than 25 years of experience as a newspaper reporter and television producer. Her stories have won numerous awards, including five Edward R. Murrow Awards, 10 Emmy Awards, and two prestigious Investigative Reporters and Editors Award for outstanding investigative reporting. Her investigations have also exposed wrongdoing, prompted the recall of dangerous products, and changed state laws.

During her career, Lisa has also worked as an economic crime investigator for the Johnson County, Kansas, District Attorney Office, and as a press aide for a former Missouri Attorney General. Those experiences gave Lisa keen insights into the court system and how to conduct criminal investigations and civil consumer investigations.

Lisa has also written 18 non-fiction books for children for such publishers as Scholastic, Capstone Press, and Rosen Publishing. Her titles include “Marie Curie,” “Albert Einstein,” and “Ghosts.” Her freelance stories have appeared in local and national publications, including “The Kansas City Star,” “Dog Fancy,” and “AppleSeeds” magazines.
