LaSharah S. Bunting is Vice President at The 19th. Before joining The 19th, she was CEO and Executive Director of the Online News Association. LaSharah’s previous roles include Vice President and Executive Editor at Simon & Schuster and Director/Journalism at Knight Foundation, where she managed a portfolio of investments focused on accelerating digital transformation in newsrooms and advancing equity in journalism.

Prior to joining Knight, LaSharah spent nearly 14 years at The New York Times, where she led digital transformation across the newsroom and served in various editing roles. She began her career as an editor at The Dallas Morning News. LaSharah is a graduate of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. She is also an alumna of Sulzberger Executive Leadership Program at Columbia University and the Maynard Media Academy. She serves on the board of directors of the Lenfest Institute, Outlier Media, Open Campus, and Dow Jones News Fund.
