Kari Cobham has over a decade of experience in journalism, digital storytelling and newsroom leadership. She is director of fellowships at The 19th News. She was previously the senior associate director of The Carter Center’s Rosalynn Carter Fellowships for Mental Health Journalism and Media where she oversaw the program in the United States and abroad. Before that, she was Cox Media Group’s senior manager of digital content, leading their newsrooms’ digital content strategy, news partnerships, training, and bridging product and editorial.
A mom of two, Kari is a co-founder of the Media Moms Facebook group and has navigated her career alongside many a personal crisis. She’s covered government and women’s issues in the Caribbean and Florida as a reporter and led social media in legacy newsrooms since the mid-2000s. Her writing has appeared in Vox, HuffPo and SHE Magazines, among other publications. She’s proud HBCU grad (Bethune-Cookman University) and an alum of the University of Central Florida.
