Jenny Lawton is a producer, editor, sound designer, and showrunner. As Managing Editor of WNYC Studios, she led and/or edited some of the industry’s most acclaimed podcasts including “More Perfect,” “Blindspot,” “La Brega,” “Nancy,” and “The Anthropocene Reviewed.” She previously served as the Executive Producer of “Studio 360” and covered politics, technology, and the arts at WBEZ/Chicago Public Radio. Her work has been honored with a duPont-Columbia Award, and by the NAACP, AP, RTNDA, Third Coast Audio Festival, and Webbies. She was also awarded two fellowships by USC-Annenberg/NEA and is a proud member of the 2016 ONA-Poynter digital women leaders cohort. Jenny thinks about leading teams and productions as solving multidimensional puzzles. She considers podcast-making (and journalism, generally) a team sport — her favorite role is player-coach.
