Ethar is a Young Audiences Editor on the strategy team at the Wall Street Journal, building and overseeing a new digital publication targeting 18-34 year olds. Prior to that, she was the senior executive producer overseeing the newsroom at AJ+, the digital-focused unit of Al-Jazeera. She has over a decade of international journalism experience working on news, features and investigative stories for print, online, and TV. An international award winning journalist, she’s been awarded a CNN African Journalist of the Year Award, a Samir Kassir Freedom of the Press Award, and an Anna Lindh Euro-Mediterranean Journalist Award. She’s authored a book on Sufism in Yemen, and has an MBA and an MA in Television and Digital Journalism from the American University in Cairo.
