Emma Löfgren is a senior digital news editor and public speaker who believes journalism can help people find their place in the world. She has worked across several European markets, in particular Scotland and Sweden, and has over a decade’s worth of experience in newsroom leadership roles.

She is the deputy managing editor of The Local Europe’s pan-European newsroom, and leads The Local Sweden’s small but award-winning team in reporting on issues that affect the lives of foreign professionals. Her main interests are solutions journalism, community and membership strategy.

Emma was part of the ONA Women’s Leadership Accelerator’s class of 2021. In addition to her coaching areas, she’s always happy to talk about the European journalism market, working in and managing small and remote teams, the work-life balance, how to apply local journalism principles to national and international journalism, and how to be a public speaker as an introvert.
