Emily Ristow is the director of local news transformation for the American Press Institute. She manages Table Stakes, a change-management program that coaches leaders of local news organizations across the country to quickly and continuously innovate.
Previously, Emily was at the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, where she worked in various roles, including as loyalty and engagement news director and social media editor. She helped develop and oversaw the Journal Sentinel’s strategy to increase its new audience, loyal audience and number of digital subscribers.
She also coaches journalists on audience-focused thinking, social listening and digital storytelling techniques.
Emily has also worked as a digital producer, copy editor and print designer. She graduated from the University of Missouri with degrees in journalism and political science.
