Rachel Schallom is the deputy editor for digital at Fortune Magazine where she leads, strategizes and edits all things Fortune.com. She curates a bimonthly newsletter on interesting things happening in digital media. She has written for Poynter, Nieman Lab and Source, among others, about the media industry and issues impacting women in journalism. Previously, she focused on newsroom culture and fighting burnout as managing editor of VICE, worked on content strategy at the Wall Street Journal and built and transformed teams at digital outlets and newspapers. Schallom has both her bachelor’s and master’s in journalism from the University of Missouri.
